北京大学国家发展研究院返聘教授。北京大学健康老龄与发展研究中心主任、美国杜克大学医学院老年医学部与老龄与人类发展研究中心终身教授、北京大学瑞意高等研究所首席科学家。曾毅教授主要研究领域为人口经济学、老龄健康与经济发展、家庭人口预测分析方法及其在市场经济与社会规划中的应用、人口政策分析。多篇研究论文在国际顶级刊物上发表,获得德国马普研究院人口研究所杰出研究学者的称号。2010年被荷兰皇家艺术与科学院授予“外籍院士”荣誉,2018年当选发展中国家科学院院士。
